Option 1b is preferred with 36”-wide peripheral tables, entry door on the side of the teaching area and central open space for lecture layout. b. Teaching wall is a necessary item. c. If possible, teacher’s desk should be a separate area. Due to circulation needs (door locations) it might be placed in line with the demonstration table. d. Two schemes will be developed, one showing cabinets with fixed students stations and another with movable stations. e. There could be upper cabinets on two entire walls. f. Show Prep room with emergency shower and fume hood. g. A narrative describing a proposed ventilation system will be sent to the District for their consideration. 2a.2 M wing - Art a. The 3D studio should have space for 7 tables and a teacher’s desk. b. Electrical capabilities will decide if the 3D studio moves into M1 or M2. c. In order to avoid taking interior space, the kilns (four total) will be placed on the south outside wall. Verify electrical capabilities for these. The current location of the kilns is in room S2 at the H wing. These will be checked to confirm they could be in an outdoor location. d. The storage room on H wing (S4) could be still dedicated to art, but it would remain as storage and not as kiln room to avoid longer distance to transport the art work. e. 2D studio could be smaller, may be 960 SF. f. Additional storage could be carved from 2D room g. A white wall could be placed on the east wall. h. Linear storage space will be confirmed. i. Acoustical panels will be removed. j. There is an adjacent room on the side of the kitchen that will be looked into to see if it could be part of Band Rm #2 and provide more storage space. e. Provide a sink in each room. If not possible, at least one should be centrally located. f. 2a.4 New Auditorium a. Verify dimension of existing stage with proposed.
