New Items Action By ITEM
1.1 Introduction GPA General update of scope and state of campus and kindergarten.
2.1 General Layout Classroom supports 22-24 students.
Entire class meets in front of the smartboard, on the teaching rug.
Class breaks down into quarters for activities.
One breakout area should be an art/wet area.
Other than whiteboard, walls could be half cabinetry and half tackable surface.
Sometimes only 11 students present in the afternoons.
Would like to keep gate on corner of existing kindergarten for parents.
Current pick up and drop off method is adequate.
Doors between classrooms desirable.
Prefer 1st grade entry on north side of new 1st
grade wing.
2.2 Storage Flat art storage or folding wire rack near wet area.
Big book (24” x 36”) storage needed.
Some low storage should be deep enough to accommodate “banker box” sized containers.
Both open and closed storage are wanted, perhaps half and half.
Lockable closet wanted.
Cubbies and coat hooks – undecided at this point.
2.3 Technology Future technologies will include iPad devices and similar, requiring only a cart or charging station which could be secure, or locked in a closet or office.
2.4 Exterior Spaces Garden outside the new classrooms would be great.
