It has been requested that there be a closet on both floors: one large closet with cart and one smaller closet for storage. Large closet is preferred on 1st floor. Requested large custodian closet program requirements: • Mop sink • Utility sink • Washer/dryer hookup • Supply shelving o Trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. • Cold and hot water connections Requested small custodian closet program requirements: • Storage for dry supplies • No water hookup needed Flooring should be low maintenance and not require striping or waxing. Duane proposed an epoxy floor finish similar to that of Hays Elementary School. Requested exterior program requirements: • Hose bibs o 1st floor: 2 hose bibs on each the North and South side of the building. 1 hose bib on the west end. Ohlone ES 0819 April 13, 2009 Meeting Notes 2 of 3 o 2nd floor: one hose bib along exterior corridor. • Electrical outlets throughout for blower Staff ok with locating the 1st floor custodial closet outside in the southeast corner of the building. Location should be out of main traffic area and easily accessible for restocking supplies. Program: 4th/5th Grade Classrooms Attendees: Susan Charles, Makeda Perryman, Rick Ehrhorn, Melanie Chang, Bill Overton, Janice Steve, Renee Alloy, Otak Jump, Terri Feinberg, Tom Hodges, Lori Alvarez, Steven Korovesis, Ashley Drum 4th/5th Grade to have 9 classroooms with 25 students each. Requested workroom programming requirements: • Small group work area with storage preferred over private office space • Must have a visual connection to the classroom. Requested classroom programming requirements • 16’ white board/ learning wall in addition to smart board for large group instruction • White boards for small group instruction • Projectors mounted on ceiling • Tackable wall space • Map rails on multiple walls for time lines • 12 computer stations per room with flexible locations o Some permanent stations for impromptu access o Currently 8 computers per classroom, district goal of 4:1 ratio o Portable laptop carts not preferred because of set-up time • VCR/ DVD player with connection to LCD projector. TV’s not needed • Electrical outlets throughout room to support times when all students are using laptops • Projection screen, can be above learning wall • Wall mounted speakers with teacher microphone • Carpet preferred in group areas with tile flooring in front of sinks, art areas, and doorways • Drying racks for 14” x 18” sheets • Flat files with drawers • Double sink with cold water and drinking fountain bubbler • Sliding doors to connect interior/ exterior spaces • Interior cubbies, 1 per student, 1’ x 1’ dimension • 28-30 exterior coat hooks Meeting Notes 3 of 3 • Base cabinets with sliding doors so door swing doesn’t encroach on group space • Handle-less cabinets for students to lean against when on floor • Open shelving • Daylighting controls when using smart board/ projection screen • Full-length cabinets for broom storage, etc. Wardrobe not needed • Door between classrooms desirable if it doesn’t take away from group/ wall space • Desks with flat tops so they can be grouped together to form larger work table • Closet for storage • Poster drawers and art drawers Requested Flex Room programming requirements: • 1200 sq. ft. • Science storage • Breakout space • Lockable art cabinet • 2 double sinks • PAUSD to provide itemized program Program: RSP Classroom Attendees: Renee Alloy, Lori Alvarez, Steven Korovesis, Ashley Drum Requested RSP programming requirements: • Restroom proximity important • Resource room o 4 computer stations o 2 8’ white boards, no learning wall required o Lockable file cabinet o Small group partitions o Double sink with drinking fountain • Reading Room o Minimum 160 sq. ft. • Shared office End of Meeting Notes These notes will be considered substantially correct and complete unless otherwise notified in writing within five working days of receipt.
