Director PACCC Lori Alvarez PAUSD Thomas Hodges O’Connor/PAUSD Chris Duncan GPA Steven Korovesis GPA Ashley Drum GPA The following new items were discussed: New Items Action By ITEM 2.1 Conceptual Design fyi GPA recapped the conceptual design for the new building work at Ohlone, which will require the relocation of the current daycare portables from their existing location. 2.2 Daycare Location fyi GPA presented two schemes for the new daycare location: Scheme 1 relocates the portables to the Amarillo street side of campus, and requires a reconfigured parking and drop off area. Scheme 2 relocates the portables at the location of the existing 4th- 5th grade portable classrooms, which will be removed after construction of the new building. fyi PACCC felt that Scheme 1 would be the least desirable option for parents and staff. There is a strong desire to remain integrated with the campus, and not be disconnected from the school. It is preferred to be able to walk directly on to the campus from the daycare portables. Access to play space is a priority. fyi PACCC preferred Scheme 2, locating daycare portables in place of existing portable classrooms. fyi GPA suggested the possibility of using existing 4-5th grade portables with restrooms as daycare portables. 2.3 Daycare Program fyi Currently, there is a need for 2 portable classrooms. fyi PACCC raised concerns about the condition of the existing portables. One portable is very old. fyi There must be 2 bathrooms, boys and girls, for the daycare. Currently there are 2 bathrooms in 1 portable. fyi It is not possible to share space with a classroom during construction. City contract requires dedicated day care space. fyi There will be a summer day care program at Ohlone this summer. There will not be a summer day care program next summer. fyi The daycare is licensed for 70 children. PACCC said that they do not have to meet the 35 sf per child requirement. fyi Daycare needs include small office space and kitchen space with refrigerator, dishwasher and residential range. End of Meeting Notes These notes will be considered substantially correct and complete unless otherwise notified in writing within five working days of receipt.
